The more you play, the more you'll be rewarded. Also, including your game playing friends will also help you grow faster. If you don't have the time to play a lot, or if you have more money than time, you can buy Farmville bucks for a fee. These will help you farm, but can cost you a lot of real money. That's what I use gift certificates for (I'm too cheap to buy them myself). The last and least fun thing to do is to buy and use a "bot" - a bot will help you run the farm for you, especially when you don't have time yourself.
